The Conference Palace is the largest meetinghouse in Cuba

Also known by the acronym PALCO, the Palace of Conventions in Havana is the largest and leading institution specialized in events and congresses of unquestionable prestige in Cuba. It was opened in 1979 to host the Sixth Summit Conference of Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) held in Havana, Cuba.
Located in Miramar, one of the most beautiful residential areas of the city of Havana, it covers an area of 60 thousand square meters and has 11 air-conditioned rooms, modernly equipped, with simultaneous interpretation and advanced audiovisual technology. It also has other multipurpose locals and offices which ensures the success of the events. It also houses the Palco Hotel; an executive 4 star facility with 178 rooms is an excellent place to stay during international events of great magnitude.
The International Conference Center has hosted numerous conferences and national and international events, among which highlight the VI and XIV NAM Summit Conference, the holding of congresses regarding health, education and culture, Congress of Marine Sciences, besides being the permanent headquarters of the ordinary and extraordinary sessions of the National Assembly of People’s Power (Parliament) of Cuba.

Large Room or Auditorium of the Palace of Conventions

The main hall or auditorium is the largest of its lounges and perhaps the best known because it is where the plenary sessions of the events are held. It has a capacity for 700 thousand people, although its capacity can reach two thousand 200 with the use of the lunettes.

Rooms and Offices of Palace of Conventions in Havana

In the area there are different rooms, and besides five snack bars, there are the main bar, cafe and restaurant. Professional services regarding the organization of congresses, conferences, conference officers, technical secretariat, document distribution, referrals, translation, simultaneous translation, typing, printing, audio, accreditation, besides professional organization of fairs, exhibition design, gastronomy, services medical and general facilities are provided. In Cuba, the Conference Center is the place par excellence for events or conferences.

Other Halls of Palace of Conventions in Havana

In addition to the auditorium, the International Conference Center boasts 11 other event rooms of different sizes and capacities. Hall 1 covers an area of 2 000 600 square meters, with 19 seats in the presidency and a total capacity of 551 thousand people. Room 2 consists of 337.50 square meters, for a total capacity of 168 people. Room 3 has an area of 540 square meters and a total capacity of 393 people. Hall 4 covers 540 square meters and has a capacity of 406, 9 seats in the presidency, 153 seats and 244 lunettes.
The area of Room 5 is 244.8 square meters, with 10 seats in the presidency, and other 84 which accommodate 94 people. Room 6 has 115.8 square meters, for a total capacity of 61 people, 27 seats and 34 lunettes. Room 7, with its 115.8 square meters can accommodate 61 people, 27 seats and 34 lunettes. Room 8 of 148.4 square meters and a capacity of 136 people, has 4 seats in the presidency and 132 lunettes.
Room 9 meanwhile occupies 105.1 square meters, for a total capacity of 84 people, with 4 seats on chair and 80 other lunettes. The Room 10 has an area of 105.1 square meters, for a total capacity of 76 guests in 32 chairs and 44 lunettes, while the Chamber 11 has an area of 177.2 square meters and can accommodate a total of 97 people, with 7 seats in the presidency and other 90 lunettes.

Services of the Palace of Conventions in Havana

The Palace organizes, promotes and conducts conventions, conferences, symposia, conferences, national and international meetings, fairs and exhibitions. In addition, through an extensive network of official agencies in Latin America, North America and Europe, but not limited to and in conjunction with associations or companies interested in these services promote and market the plan for each of the events and fairs that are programmed.
