Characteristics of Cayo Jutía Beach.
Cayo Jutía is part of the Los Colorados archipelago, which belongs to the westernmost province of Cuba: Pinar del Río, specifically in the municipality of Minas de Matahambre.
This beautiful place has an approximate length of 4 square kilometers, of them on the north coast more than 3km of almost virgin beach with white sand, transparent water similar to turquoise blue and almost total tranquility.
On the south coast mangroves predominate.
To get to Cayo Jutía it is possible through a road of about 5 km built on the sea to connect the key with the mainland.
Some tourist agencies in Pinar del Río plan excursions to the key, but the best way is to rent a car either at the agencies or with a local resident who is dedicated to this rental service.
Attractions of Cayo Jutía Beach
In this remote place the main attraction is to enjoy a day of peace and calm accompanied by sun, beach and nature.
Also in a cabin that is located near the restaurant it is possible to hire excursions to dive in the reefs, where abundant starfish can be found.
Another option is to rent water bikes and snorkel.
Observing some endemic birds of Cuba that live in that place, such as the batista hawk, the zunzún and the woodpeckers, can also be another pleasant moment when passing through the beach of Cayo Jutía.
Lodging in Cayo Jutías.
One of the main characteristics of this beach is its tranquility and its practically virgin nature, which depends largely on the absence of hotels or accommodation sites.
The best thing to do for tourists is to stay in a rental house in Santa Lucía or Viñales and take a day trip to Cayo Jutía.
What the visitor can find on the key is a small restaurant where you can have lunch with your family if you are enjoying a day of sun, beach and tranquility.
